Back in May, I shared my top 20 “must-have” baby products that I wished I had known about sooner. Now, as we celebrate Ethan’s first birthday, I think it’s time to update that list.
First up: Sposie Booster Pads. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this product. Ethan was somehow managing to soak through his diapers every single night – no matter what we tried. We tried every brand of overnight diaper, we tried changing him at bedtime and halfway through the night, we tried not giving him water after a certain time…we tried it all. No matter what, he’d wake up in the morning with a pee soaked mattress and sleep sack. We did SO MUCH LAUNDRY.
I turned to the all-knowing Google for help and these pads popped up. Basically, they’re very similar to a maxi pad. You just line the diaper with one and it soaks up EVERYTHING. I’m telling you, they are the holy grail sanity saver. The best part is – they go from newborn up to 5T! They cost $10 a pack and can be purchased from Amazon, Target & Walmart.
Next up: the ezpz Tiny Cup & Tiny Spoon set. We started BLW (Baby-Led Weaning) around 6 months & these turned out to be our favorite feeding tools by far. We tried several brands of spoons, cups, forks, etc. and the reason we kept choosing the Tiny line over everything else was because they were the only utensils that truly felt designed for self-feeding. The cup is angled and weighted to allow for controlled water flow and both the cup and the spoons are designed to fit in your child’s hands – as opposed to being smaller versions of adult utensils – to aid and encourage self-feeding.
Another absolute lifesaver that I wish I had known about earlier is the Summer My Bath Seat. Ethan very quickly outgrew his baby bathtub and we didn’t feel comfortable placing him in the regular bathtub without any support, as he had barely mastered sitting up. This was the PERFECT solution. Affordable, easy to get in/out of the bath & still allowed him to be in a seated position as he was bathed – without fear of him slipping or falling over.
The last product I wanted to highlight are the Bumkins Sleeved Bibs. Honestly, there’s not a ton you can say about bibs. These bibs are affordable, wash up nicely & keep your baby completely covered so clean-up is a breeze. Win, win, win!
